One of the most frequently asked questions I receive is: How and why does laser therapy reduce pain and speed up healing?

To put it simply, light is an essential energy source in nature for plants and animals. Low-level laser/cold laser therapy uses light to stimulate natural healing and repair of the cells. Laser light is absorbed by cells beneath the skin, which convert light into useful energy for growth and repair. This process is called photobiomodulation or photobiostimulation. Unlike surgical or cosmetic lasers, low-level laser therapy has no side effects and emits no heat, sound or vibration.

This therapy technique has been used extensively in Europe over the last 15 years and is becoming increasingly popular in Australia. If you want to get into the more technical details, you can find peer-reviewed medical journal articles by Clicking Here.
